NLCS: Last Two WS Winners Will Meet, Baseball Hated

I had this story all ready to go for the Nationals winning, and then the Cardinals went all 2011 World Series on the Nats and now we have ourselves a battle of the 2010 and 2011 World Series Champions, with Texas Rangers fans leading the charge for the proposal that both these teams be forced to lose. Unfortunately for them, the games will be played, starting at AT&T Park on Sunday.

Outside of Adam Wainwright in Game 5, the Cardinals pitching has been pretty stellar, holding the Nationals to under 4 runs each game.  If you read an earlier post I wrote this morning you know the Cardinals have put some routs on the Nationals, and their offense has been alive and kicking during their time in the Postseason, like they realize it’s important to score runs to win. Their bullpen features some fireballers, and prospect Shelby Miller has joined their staff, which if you ask me, really isn’t fair.

The Giants need their starting pitchers to step up and their bats to become more consistent once their series against the Cardinals begins on Sunday. A repeat of 2002 where the Giants beat the Cardinals would be very much welcome, but of course with a happier ending. The Giants and Cardinals split the season series at three-a-piece.

Here is the schedule for the series that everyone outside of San Francisco and St. Louis will hate to watch:

Game 1, 5PM PST, FOX: Sunday, October 14th: Cardinals @ Giants

Game 2, 5PM PST, FOX: Monday, October 15th: Cardinals @ Giants

Game 3, 1PM, FOX: Wednesday, October 17th: Giants @ Cardinals

Game 4, 5PM, FOX: Thursday, October 18th: Giants @ Cardinals

Game 5, 5PM PST, FOX: Friday, October 19th: Giants @ Cardinals*

Game 6, 1:30PM PST, FOX: Sunday, October 21st: Cardinals @ Giants*

Game 7, 5:00PM PST, FOX: Monday, October 22nd: Cardinals @ Giants*

* – if necessary
