The home team Cardinals:

The talk of the town is that Scutaro is back in the lineup, and that the game could see a large volume of rain delays. We may not even start this game until the late afternoon, but as Cardinals coach Mike Matheny has said, “This is the Midwest, and we know that can change right away,” so we’ll see. Here’s the forecast (game time in St. Louis is 3:07PM):

That’s a lot of projected precipitation as well as thunderstorms. In case you were wondering, at 10PM CST the precipitation chances are at 10%, but keep in mind MLB will also have to consider the field conditions after the downpour. You also have to wonder how the managers will handle their starting pitchers — will they actually roll Cain and Lohse out if the game starts on time, or will you see a George Kontos-Joe Kelly matchup to start things off? Update: Bochy plans on starting Cain, doesn’t want to have starting a reliever “bite him” in the butt like he said it did in LA a few years ago.
